Turbulence and Raging Rivers

Chapter 6 was edited while I was watching the ending of Sparkle (it’s a movie). After a particularly difficult week, I asked God for some inspiration, for a reason to keep on going. Then I heard the song. Mind you I’ve known it for quite some time, having watched the movie a million times already. But I never really listened to it, you know.

‘One Wing’ by Jordan Sparks has been that inspiration for this chapter. Sometimes it feels way too easy to give up because continuing on is just too hard, and the pressure suffocates you until you just can’t breathe anymore.

The road we choose, the one that’s best suited for us, is always the hardest. The one with the most adversities. But that’s okay I guess, nothing worth doing is ever easy. This just means that the reward will be equal to the hardship that I’ve faced in the past six/seven years.

‘The Gemini’ is an easy read. It’s not a literary marvel like the works of Jane Austin, it’s definitely not a perfectly curated English soup. It’s a little messy, intentionally. It’s like the Ugly Duckling. It’s beauty comes with the growth of the characters and the development of the storyline. So don’t expect to read about a modern version of Marie Antoinette, or a pair of warrior princesses (which would be more accurate). You won’t find perfect, because the perfection is found within the imperfections. In the mess, there’s beauty.

I love ‘The Gemini’ for a completely insane reason.

Perhaps once I’ve grown and matured, and there’s more of my work out there, then you will understand. Or maybe not. ‘The Gemini’ is my One Wing in a sense. My growth, my muse. It’s a part of my soul and it terrifies me knowing that in a few months I will be revealing this side of me for anyone to see and criticize and pick apart.

‘it’s just a book’ I try to convince myself every time I want to back out. So please bear with me, I didn’t think this blog would become so personal.

So please, sit back. Relax. And watch as I expose my vulnerable to the whole world to find, eventually.
